You may, without asking: quote excerpts with attribution and a link; link to any page; use screenshots in reporting, teaching or research; and reuse individual facts, which are not copyrightable.
You need written permission to: republish a full article; redistribute our directory compilation in bulk; use our content or data to train a commercial machine-learning model; or use our name or logo in a way that suggests endorsement.

Filing a DMCA takedown notice
Send a written notice to our designated agent containing all of the following (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)):
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim was infringed.
- Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it — a direct URL is best.
- Your address, telephone number and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.

We acknowledge complete notices within 10 business days, remove or disable access to material we determine is properly noticed, and notify the person who posted it.
Please consider fair use first. Quotation, commentary, criticism, news reporting and teaching are often lawful. Notices sent in bad faith can expose you to liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), and we do not remove lawful criticism because someone finds it inconvenient.
Counter-notice
If your material was removed and you believe it was a mistake or a misidentification, send a counter-notice to the same address with:
- Your signature.
- Identification of the removed material and where it appeared.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief it was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your district (or, if outside the US, any district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the party who filed the notice.
If we receive a valid counter-notice, we forward it to the complaining party. Unless they file a court action seeking to restrain the activity, we may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days.
Repeat infringers
Accounts that are the subject of repeated valid takedown notices are terminated, in accordance with 17 U.S.C. § 512(i).

Third-party names, seals and logos appearing on this site — including city and county seals — belong to their owners and are used only to identify the bodies we cover. Their appearance does not imply endorsement or affiliation. If you are a jurisdiction and object to how your name or seal appears, write to [email protected] and we will address it promptly.
